01 / GTM STRATEGY

BUILD YOUR ROUTE TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

“Grow faster” is an objective.

A go-to-market strategy works out where that growth should come from, who needs to buy, why they should care, how you’ll reach them, and what the business needs to prioritise to make it happen.

Cyber Increment helps cybersecurity and technology companies turn growth goals into a GTM system people can actually execute.

Typical timeline
6–8 weeks

02 / WHEN YOU NEED MORE THAN A MARKETING PLAN

GTM CROSSES THE WHOLE BUSINESS.

Go-to-market isn’t a synonym for marketing.

It connects the market opportunity, product, buyers, commercial model, sales motion, marketing, partners, customer experience, and the choices leadership makes about where to focus.

A GTM strategy is particularly useful when:

  • You’re entering a new market
  • You’re targeting a new buyer or segment
  • Growth has reached a plateau
  • The business has several possible routes and needs to choose
  • A new product or proposition changes the existing motion
  • Sales and marketing aren’t operating around the same priorities
  • Activity has accumulated without a clear strategic system
  • Leadership needs to decide where the next stage of growth should come from

03 / THE BUILDING BLOCKS

CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE.

MARKET
Where is the opportunity, what is changing, and where should the business choose to compete?
BUYERS
Who experiences the problem, who influences the decision, who owns the budget, and what has to happen for them to act?
PRODUCT + VALUE
What are we taking to market, what outcome does it create, and where is the strongest fit between product capability and buyer need?
POSITIONING
What should the market understand about us, and why should somebody choose this over the alternatives?
ROUTES TO MARKET
How will we create awareness, demand, evaluation, and commercial conversations across sales, marketing, partners, product, community, or other channels?
OPERATING PLAN
What happens first, who owns it, what dependencies exist, and how will we know whether the strategy is working?

04 / STRATEGY MEANS CHOOSING

YOU CAN’T PRIORITISE EVERYTHING.

One of the most useful outputs of GTM strategy is deciding what not to do.

  • Not every market needs entering.
  • Not every persona needs targeting.
  • Not every channel deserves investment.
  • Not every campaign idea belongs in this quarter.

A useful strategy gives teams permission to concentrate resources where there is a coherent reason to believe they can create movement.

05 / WHAT YOU GET

THE PLAYBOOK.

The exact output depends on the business, but a GTM engagement can include:

  • Market and opportunity framing
  • ICP and segment priorities
  • Buyer and stakeholder journeys
  • Product/value alignment
  • Positioning and messaging direction
  • Competitive context
  • Route-to-market choices
  • Sales and marketing alignment
  • Partner or channel role
  • Campaign priorities
  • Content requirements
  • Measurement framework
  • Sequenced GTM roadmap
  • Ownership and next actions

The result should be specific enough that the people responsible for execution know what happens next.

07 / WORK WITH THE TEAM YOU HAVE

WE DON’T NEED TO REPLACE YOUR ORG CHART.

Cyber Increment can work with founders and leadership teams, existing marketing and sales functions, internal product teams, agencies, or specialist partners.

Sometimes we lead.

Sometimes we provide the strategic layer.

Sometimes the most useful thing we can do is create clarity and hand a stronger plan to the people already there to execute it.

08 / FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS.

What is a go-to-market strategy?

A go-to-market strategy defines how a company will bring a product or proposition to the right market and create commercial growth. It connects market choice, target customers, buyer needs, product value, positioning, routes to market, sales and marketing priorities, and measurement.

What’s the difference between a GTM strategy and a marketing strategy?

Marketing strategy focuses on how marketing will create awareness, demand, engagement, and growth. GTM strategy is broader: it connects marketing with the product, market, buyers, sales motion, partners, commercial model, and other parts of the business needed to reach and convert customers.

Do we need a GTM Diagnostic first?

Not necessarily. A diagnostic is useful when the underlying problem or opportunity is unclear. If the business already understands the challenge and needs to design the route forward, a GTM strategy engagement can be the right starting point.

Can you work with our existing marketing team or agency?

Yes. Cyber Increment is designed to work alongside existing teams and specialist partners. We can provide the strategic layer, lead a specific workstream, or help turn the strategy into priorities that the existing team can execute.
